Originating from Isla Vista, California, Iration has carved out a distinct niche in the reggae rock genre with their innovative fusion of reggae, rock, and pop elements. 

The band, formed by Micah Pueschel (guitar/vocals), Adam Taylor (bass), Joe Dickens (drums), Cayson Peterson (keyboards), and Micah Brown (guitar/vocals), is known for their smooth melodies, rich harmonies, and uplifting lyrics. 

Iration’s music resonates with a broad audience, offering a feel-good vibe that has made them a staple in the reggae fusion scene.

Early Career

Iration’s journey began in 2004, with the band members sharing a common bond through their Hawaiian roots and a love for reggae music. Their early years were marked by performing at local venues and college parties in Isla Vista, where they quickly built a dedicated fan base. 

In 2006, they released their debut EP, “New Roots,” which showcased their ability to blend traditional reggae rhythms with modern influences. The EP featured tracks like “Cookie Jar” and “Falling,” which highlighted their knack for catchy hooks and relatable lyrics. 

The success of “New Roots” propelled them into the spotlight, leading to more extensive touring and a growing reputation as a dynamic live act.

Career Highlights

Following the momentum of their debut EP, Iration released their first full-length album, “No Time for Rest,” in 2007. This album further solidified their position in the reggae fusion genre, featuring standout tracks such as “Time Bomb” and “Wait and See.” The album was praised for its polished production and cohesive sound, blending reggae’s laid-back vibes with rock’s energetic edge. 

In 2010, Iration released “Time Bomb,” which became a breakthrough success. The album featured hits like “Turn Around” and “Falling,” earning significant airplay and charting on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

Their subsequent albums, including “Automatic” (2013), “Hotting Up” (2015), and “Double Up” (2016), continued to expand their sound and appeal, each project demonstrating their ability to evolve while maintaining their signature style.

Current Work

Iration continues to push the boundaries of reggae fusion, consistently releasing music that resonates with a wide audience. Their recent work includes the 2018 self-titled album “Iration” and the 2020 release “Coastin’,” both of which received critical acclaim and solidified their place in the contemporary reggae scene.

 “Coastin’,” in particular, showcased their maturity and refined sound, with tracks like “Right Here Right Now” and “Move Forward” highlighting their ability to craft uplifting anthems with a positive message. Iration’s live performances remain a key aspect of their appeal, with the band known for their energetic and engaging shows.
